Taking Wild Flower Pictures in the Austin's Texas Hill Country: SNMC Loan Officer Malissa K Scott

2014 was the year I finally cracked and had a impromptu photo of me taken amongst Lady Bird Johnson's Texas Hill Country's beloved Wild Flowers. I have taken plenty of the most amazing beautiful shots of my kids through the years, but no one had really every said "Hey how about a picture of you".

One cool spring April morning I was taking a walk between Big Stacy and Little Stacy Parks in the heart of Austin just a little off of the go to Hipster Hot Spots in SOCO (that's South Congress). Those April showers definitely brought the May flowers this year.

Being local to Austin and The Texas Hill Country has afforded me the knowledge of where and when the Wild Flowers are in their full glory. I've never had to drag my kids out on the side of the highway and pray that some motorist wasn't going to veer off the road and accidentally run my entire family over. Some of you new to Austin may ask "How'd that happen?" The story of the President Johnson's wife and her legacy of the Wildflowers is a story for another blog another day.

My name is Malissa K. Scott and I am a Loan Officer and the professional benefit of being local is knowing and understanding the unique differences of Austin's diverse neighborhoods. Which is also a benefit of working at Security National Mortgage, we know the value of Austin homes, we take care of our entire lending process in our Austin office. Our employees are local Austinites many of whom have spent their entire careers here in Central Texas. Residential, True Green Built, Construction, Land, & Commercial, we take care of Austin & The Texas Hill Country's lending needs.

Austin Shoe Hospital: Just another perk of living in Austin Texas! by SNMC Loan Officer Malissa K Scott

Reason #247 to appreciate living and working in Austin Texas, my shoes have more lives than a cat thanks to the Austin Shoe Hospital. In our disposable culture it is refreshing to be able to extend the life of things I love and what Girl doesn't love her shoes!

www.malissakscott.comI take my babies to the location at 6781 290 West, Austin TX 78735 phone 512.288.6387 where Emilio Carrizales takes them in well worn & broken and gives them new life... and in this case a new sole! Actually look at the unique shape of the heel, they were able to customize the piece and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg. Emilio has worked for the Austin Shoe Hospital for over 7 years and I am always confidant my shoes are in the best hands in town.

I feel like I have the same opportunity as a Loan Officer. Every week I'm introduced to an individual who has heard NO from other banks and loan officers, more often than not I am able to find their YES . There is not a lot more gratifying then sitting at the closing table when my clients are handed the keys to their new home. I work at Security National Mortgage Corporation and we have programs that surpass the average bank. Residential, True Green Lending, Construction, Land, and Commercial. Buying a house for yourself or an investment property, I can help get those keys in your hands.

Buying a Car Like a "Girl"... and coming out smelling like... NEW CAR! and again finding myself an "Accidential Hipster" with my Micro Car Scion iQ: by Malissa K Scott

I'm not joking... I bought a car "Like a Girl".

I know right! How many of you are offended by that statement? What does it mean to buy a car like a girl? And by the way it is also TOTALLY another "Accidental Hipster" event in my life.

www.malissakscott.com
Here she is, my Scion iQ, my Micro Car. It is the essence of what makes an Austin Hipster uber Cool right now. Don't fear for my safety, with her 11 air bags she turns in to a marshmallow if an accident occurs.

She reminds me of Troll dolls in the 1980's, so ugly she is the cutest thing around. So... getting back to the original statement "I bought a car like a girl". How on God's green earth did girls get such a bad reputation for purchasing things? This Scion iQ makes my 21st negation to purchase a vehicle, and I've never walked away with a "bad" deal.

Psst... don't tell the Car Salesman out there, but the 1st car I ever purchased, I negotiated such a phenomenal deal the dealership sent an employee over 500 miles and across state lines with an "alternative" car to swap with me. How do you think that worked for the Dealership? 10 years later 3 other members of my family owned and enjoyed that car.

With that I'm saying "Buying a Car Like a Girl" has meant the best deal going in my 20 year experience . Buying this Scion iQ from Austin's Toyota Auto Nation has lived up to my standard. However what I mean by the expected standard of buying a car like a girl... I pulled into Toyota 6:30pm Easter Eve... my 1st dealership and really just maybe thinking about looking... stated I don't know what I want OH! that's cute let me drive it... then bought it... no research. My sales team Jeff & Todd sent me home that night with the ability to bring her back on Monday and walk away from the deal they offered me. 36+ hours to think over and research.

Just WHAT DID I DO? I bought her, and used Austin's Toyota Auto Nation's Finance Department although I went to my AMAZING bank Randolph Brooks Federal Credit Union and was pre-Approved at the exact same interest rate I was offered. But my Finance Guru at Auto Nation Jeremy added real value to using his department and I walked out with a 125,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. My 1st time in 21 transactions to purchase this, and trust me when I say a win win situation for me. Door handle, radio, latch, side mirror motor gives out... no deductible... no parts... no labor...

SO... when I say "I Bought a Car Like a Girl"... I'm saying a I received the best deal that dealership was offering... I made friends... and I left with a new member of my family (that for the right price I will sell her to you in a heartbeat).

If you think I'm solid negotiating car deals I've done 1000's more mortgage loans. I always look out for the best interest of my client and work every deal just as if it was for myself (because at the end of the day "being a girl" means making sure people are taken care of in the right way).
